Anxiety

Over a billion people in the world are affected by mental health disorders. Anxiety disorders among them are the most common. 4.4% of world population lives with an anxiety disorder. From experience, individuals can understand that they are anxious, but don't know what to do about it and don't know who to go to for help. Awareness has brought us so far to understand and recognize anxiety, but not in pinpointing the type and form.

Anxiety can be debilitating if its not managed and affecting all realms of a person's life. But, the bright side is it can be managed and people can live fulfilling lives and even thrive when help is taken.

Our Approach to therapy for anxiety

  • Our work with any form of therapy initially focuses on rapport building, trust, comfort and creating a safe place for expression for the client. Our approach to anxiety focuses on understanding the current or present concern, history of anxiety and a holistic understanding of the client from various realms through active listening.

  • In collaboration, we focus on managing and coping with emotions with practical, tailor made and adaptive strategies, We also focus on decision, making, problem solving and reshaping perspectives.

  • Our main therapeutic approaches are Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavior Therapy, along with Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) when relevant.

  • Our ultimate goal of therapy is self-reliance, where an individual after therapy, must feel that they have the necessary skills to deal with the current and any future concerns on their own. Therapy must equip them with skills and tools to manage anxiety on their own.

  • Clients are provided with take home tools and strategies (strategies for regulating emotions, communication skills, thought records, self-help forms etc.) that have helped them; aligning with our goal of self-reliance and growth.
